Future Conference Speakers

Last Saturday was the first event of the year... not a part of the official tour however, so I was able to test some content for the main tour. I love that I got to try some stuff on a live crowd before putting together the manual and training the other speakers for the tour.

Edith and Moises went with me and participated, helping me show the actions to the songs and running the store. Moises filled all the curriculum order forms from the churches (25 total) and Edith taught a section on teaching memory verses. They both were awesome.
The exciting part about these guys is that they were both involved in our first year here. That first year I gave monthly teacher training here in Huatabampo, and they both were faithful attendees. And here we are... 4 years later, and they are still involved.
Last summer Edith flew to Puerto Rico on a missions trip, and was able to put on our teacher training conference over there. It was her first time to be the speaker with our material! Last week she mentioned to me how Moises said to her during one of the events last year... "Just think Edith, one of these years it will be you and I puttin on these events." I had no idea Moises was thinking of a future with us like that.

They both have helped us in the shop on their Christmas break... but the break is over... and they are both back to school. Today was Edith's last day here helping, and it was sad to see her go.
It is fun to see these young people step up into the ministry!
Tour 2009.. here we come!!!!

Terrible News!!!

The Pope announced that all Mexicans who attend a certain event on a certain date this year in Mexico will have all their past, present and future sins forgiven! No pergatory... straight to heaven! It's like a blatent return to 'indulgences'.

He also said that he was the 'only being able to forgive sins'. (el unico ser) Isnt that just terrible!!! If this man can forgive sins whenever he wants... why wouldnt he do so out of love for all these Mexicans!!! (to quote Martin Luther... adding 'Mexicans')

Also, the Catholic church has resorted to collecting the tithe from people AT THEIR HOMES here in Huatabampo! Can you imagine the priest arriving to collect your tithe! Talk about pressure to give!

Pastor German says that the Catholic church is loosing it's grasp here in Mexico, and is doing extreme things to try to keep it.

Release your grasp in the name of Jesus!
Lord FREE Mexico from it's chains!!! Release the captives, set them free!!!

It's Spring!

The weather feels downright gorgeous today! I was totally sad at first that my winter is already over. I barely got to wear each sweater once or twice!!! But alas… it’s spring already! I mentioned to Jan that it felt like spring today… and she said, “It feels like SUMMER!” So, I checked the thermometer… and it is 80 degrees… sunny with a slight wind! It’s perfect! (I still have my fake fireplace lit today, it’s soooo new… I need to have my fake fire a little longer yet!) ha ha!!

Happy New Year!

We had a lovely Christmas!!!

It all started with a fun trip to Obregon... (not Oregon, OBREGON...just 2 hours north to the big city).... gringo food, a fancy store (Fabricas de Francia), shopping at Walmart, and Icecream at the little mall Christmas tree.

Christmas Eve breakfast in bed by Dwight... biscuits and gravy!

Then a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner and awesome church service online with our church lifechurch.tv. That was the best rendition of the Hallelujah chorus I have EVER seen or heard!!!

Dwight knocked on the front door and gave me a fireplace from Michiacan, Mexico!
Then I let him uncover his present out in the shop... a lathe!!! (no idea how to spell that) Now he can make a different kind of nuts and bolts. :) He has really been a happy camper!

Christmas morning breakfast and stockings were over at the Krauss Senior residence...
...then the party moved to our house, to open presents by the new fireplace! The fake glow had us all tricked! I forgot to get a picture before we opened the presents... so here is the final picture of Christmas morning AFTER we had looted the tree of all its treasures.

I missed my family for sure, but enjoyed touching base with them over the phone a little. We had a great time down here... and were able to hit the New Year running! Not decided yet where next Christmas will be.
Happy New Year to you all!!!
